This reminds me of reading Jamie Peck's Austerity Urbanism and thinking it reads a lot like a description of neocolonialism in the US. Peck didn't actually use the word neocolonialism though, and I never connected it to neofascism

Re-read this again today after first reading it on Nov 6 and it is absolutely chilling - especially when considering that it seems the Trump admin is moving towards the dystopian 'Butterfly Revolution' outlined in Curtis Yarvin's writings. I have yet to read a better summation of what our political reality is (along with a very compelling historical narrative). This piece is criminally undershared and appreciated...
